Trevor Baratko - Editor

Trevor Baratko joined the InsideNoVa team in February 2022 after working for Ogden Newspapers with the Loudoun Times-Mirror and Frederick News-Post (Md.). An Ohio native and alumnus of College of Charleston in South Carolina, Baratko has worked as a government and politics reporter, wine columnist and news editor for more than 15 years. He has lived in Northern Virginia for more than a decade.

Trevor oversees news coverage for InsideNoVa's website and weekly Prince William County newspaper as well as the FauquierNow.com website.

Kari Pugh - Digital Editor

Kari Pugh is a Dale City native and alumnus of Prince William County Public Schools, Northern Virginia Community College and George Mason University. She started her journalism career at the now-closed Potomac News in Woodbridge and began managing the InsideNoVa.com website in 2013. After a brief stint away, she returned to the role in 2018.

Kari oversees not only the website but also InsideNoVa's social media pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and frequently covers breaking news.

David Fawcett - Sports Editor

David Fawcett has been covering the Prince William County sports scene since the fall of 1988 when he joined the Potomac News, then a daily newspaper. He moved to InsideNoVa and the weekly InsideNoVa/Prince William newspaper when it was founded in 2013. He is a 1988 graduate of Syracuse University, where he earned a degree in print journalism from the Newhouse School of Communications.

David primarily covers Prince William County athletics, from the high schools to locals who go on to college or the pros. He also oversees a group of freelance writers and photographers who help to cover local events and writes for Stafford Magazine.

Emily Seymour - Reporter

Emily Seymour covers education in Prince William County as well as Manassas City and Manassas Park City public schools. Emily joined the InsideNoVa in October 2023 after graduating from American University with a master's degree in journalism and public affairs. During her time as a graduate student, Emily worked as a reporting fellow with the Investigative Reporting Workshop, producing investigative reporting primarily on education. During this time Emily also participated in the Washington Post Practicum, where she worked with members of the Washington Post's investigative unit and other teams on several investigative stories.

Emily was born and raised in Fairfax and graduated from American University in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in journalism before returning to the university in 2022 for her master's.

Ben Peters - Reporter

Before joining InsideNoVa in March 2023, Ben had served as editor of its sister newspaper, the Rappahannock News in Rappahannock County, since mid-2021. He previously was associate editor of The Athens News in Ohio. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ben studied journalism at Ohio University with a focus in public affairs reporting.

Ben covers Prince William County government and politics.

Cameron Delean - Reporter

Cameron graduated from the University of Mary Washington in 2022 with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. At UMW, she wrote for the school’ newspaper, The Weekly Ringer, and was online editor in her senior year. She also completed an internship as a news writer for The Free-Lance Star in Fredericksburg. Cameron joined InsideNoVa in September 2022.

Cameron covers news, features and events affecting the military and veterans community in Northern Virginia, including Marine Corps Base Quantico and Fort Belvoir. She also covers other news stories on occasion.

Grace Schumacher - Reporter

A native of Fauquier County and alumna of Fauquier County Public Schools schools, Grace holds a bachelor of arts degree in English and Journalism from the University of Mary Washington, where she graduated in May of 2023. During her time at UMW, she wrote for the student-run newspaper, The Weekly Ringer, serving as copy editor her senior year. She also completed an internship as a news writer for The Free Lance-Star in Fredericksburg. Grace primarily covers Fauquier County for FauquierNow and InsideNoVa.

Bruce Potter - Publisher

Bruce has been publisher of InsideNoVa and the weekly InsideNoVa/Prince William newspaper since it was founded in 2013. He previously was publisher of the Potomac News and Manassas Journal Messenger (later combined into the News & Messenger). He has worked as a reporter, editor, corporate executive and publisher in Virginia journalism since graduating from Washington & Lee University in 1985.

As publisher, Bruce oversees all editorial and business operations of InsideNoVa, including marketing and sales. He also serves as chief operating officer of InsideNoVa's parent company, Rappahannock Media LLC.
